This trio for trumpet, cello and piano has been written as a commission by Harold Villa, who is also Honduran. It was composed in 2025, February. It consists of 5 small episodes/movements. They all are different from each other, but connected by the melodies and elements that are part of the Honduran Culture. The trio brings into music some places in Honduras, historical events, and nature. It uses some modern techniques, exotic scales and modes in a neoclassical style. Also, different trumpets are used, including a piccolo trumpet that is used in the 3rd movement.
